National Tree Day – Australia’s largest community tree planting event

Central Coast Council is celebrating National Tree Day with two community planting events at Killcare Beach and Porters Creek Wetland, Wyong, on Sunday 28 July 2024, from 9am-1pm.

Please join us for an Acknowledgement of Country and Smoking Ceremony at 8:30am

  • Killcare Beach – 79 Beach Drive, Killcare
  • Porters Creek – Wyong Christian Community School 100 Alison Rd, Wyong NSW 2259

The two sites represent very different environments, with both being ecologically important in terms of biodiversity and sustainability.

The plants provided for the sites are currently being grown by our environmental volunteers at our Erina Depot Nursery. These plants will contribute to preserving our beautiful, natural environment.

Come along and enjoy getting your hands dirty, while helping your local environment and supporting Planet Ark’s annual event.

Fun on offer includes:

  • tree planting
  • live music
  • animal displays
  • environmental and cultural workshops
  • activities for kids (face painting and more!)

Please wear enclosed footwear, gloves, and protective clothing.

Every day can be tree day! By planting native plants, we contribute towards a healthier and more resilient environment and waterways, increase biodiversity, and provide habitat for native wildlife.

Being in nature is also vital for our own mental and physical health and wellbeing. We look forward to sharing a great day with everyone!
