Battle of the Bands is presented by Central Coast Council, with the support of Damien Gerard Sound Studios, Musicians Making a Difference, Central Coast Music and Arts and The Skills Engineer; The competition includes three heats, two semi-finals, and a grand final, culminating in the Creative Engineers Showcase event where winners will be announced.

Battle of the Bands (supporting bands since 2004), is made up of a series of live performance events, professional development and performance opportunities.

Open to unsigned bands aged: 10-24 years.

With two divisions: Kids Clash: 10-13 years and Youth Battle: 14-24 years.

Entrants must either live, study or work in the Central Coast region.

With a prize pool of $4500 in winnings, and additional sponsored prizes by the Battle of the Bands partners include scholarships, studio time, mentorship, and professional development packages. Battle of the Bands is a platform to kickstart emerging bands' music career.
