The purpose of the panel is for Councillors, with support from relevant Council Officers, conduct a review into the proposed demolition of the Gosford Library Building slated to occur when the new Gosford Regional Library opens in mid-2025 and that during this review any pre-demolition planning, site preparation or actual demolition is halted. The review will cover:
- Heritage value
- Community opportunities for its' ongoing use
- Environmental benefits of its' preservation.
The review will include consultation with The National Trust of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects and Central Coast historian Merrill Jackson OAM and will accept public submissions.
A report of the review will be included in the Business Paper of the March 2025 Council Meeting for consideration by Councillors.
The Council Review Committee consist of 6 (six) Councillors:
- Councillor Trent McWaide (Chair)
- Councillor Kyla Daniels
- Councillors Rachel Stanton
- Councillor Margot Castles
- Councillor Jane Smith
- Councillor Kyle MacGregor
The meetings will be held at Wyong Council Chambers and livestreamed.
Members of the public are invited to attend as observers.
