Council is maintaining temporary restricted access to the rock platform at The Haven, Terrigal, following a natural rock fall event on Wednesday 11 July.

Rock falls of this nature occur naturally from time to time along all coastlines as a result of weather and wave action.

Immediately following the incident, Council staff conducted a site inspection and installed warning signs and barrier fencing.

It is expected that the effects of the tides and rainfall will eventually stabilise the fallen rock and debris.

Council will continue to investigate the site this week to determine the stability of the area and when the site will be reopened. 

While these assessments are underway, the public is advised to avoid the area.

Permanent signage to warn visitors about the hazards of natural rockfall has been installed at the site.  

Council asks that the community stay away from the area until further notice.
