Avoca Beach will become the backdrop for some of the world’s best surfers when it hosts the VISSLA Central Coast Pro, presented by Slimes, from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 March.

More than 200 of surfing’s most talented men and women from 18 countries will converge on Avoca Beach culminating on the Sunday in a showcase of their skills in what is shaping up to be challenging surf conditions. 

With the surfing elite on show and impressive swell forecast, the event is expected to attract spectator attention and community support, especially over the weekend.

Twenty local competitors will take part in the competition, with home conditions and a home crowd a big incentive for a local to take out the title for this elite event.

The exact location for competition along Avoca Beach will be dependent on daily swell conditions.

The elite five-day World Surf League event will be the second event on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series. The 2018 series is a Qualifying Series developed to ensure home grown Australian talent gain ranking points and has so far featured events at Maroubra Beach, Cabarita Beach, and Boomerang Beach.
