22/08/2018Small businesses can now access subsidised expert mentoring and coaching services at the Gosford Smart Hub under a new three-month partnership between Central Coast Council and not-for-profit agency the Business Centre.
Based at the Gosford Smart Work Hub each Monday until late October, a Business Centre Strategist will meet with individual business owners to provide expert guidance. The advisory service is being provided through the NSW Government’s Business Connect program.
Council Director Connected Communities Julie Vaughan said the initiative would help both business intenders and existing businesses to make their projects successful.
“We know many small businesses struggle in their early years and we want to do what we can to support them,” Ms Vaughan said.
“Business success not only enhances the Coast’s economy, but enables more people to work locally, instead of commuting outside our region.
“Getting the right expert advice early can make the difference between success and failure for a small business.”
Business owners will meet with Business Centre Strategist Reda Haddadeh who has international experience in corporate strategy, working for global brands such as KPMG, EY and BDO. Mr Haddadeh now has a consulting firm and dedicates much of his time to supporting small businesses which are looking to apply their new skillsets.
“The Business Centre is very fortunate to have someone of Reda’s calibre available to businesses under the Business Connect program,” Business Centre CEO Pierre Malou said.
“As well as helping existing and innovative businesses seeking support through the Business Connect program, Reda can also provide management consulting services for the Coast’s medium businesses.”
