07/10/2019Council is inviting the community to join in the celebrations at Bazaar by the Sea, an annual fete featuring market stalls, handicrafts, artworks, raffles, live entertainment, trash and treasure and more.
The event, hosted by Ettalong 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre, showcases the talents and skills of our seniors.
Council Director Connected Communities, Julie Vaughan said the annual event caters for everyone of all ages.
“The important event provides an opportunity for the broader community to not only have fun but to discover the diverse range of talents and skills of seniors in our community,” Ms Vaughan said.
“The fete is also a chance for our community to find out more about the services and activities on offer at Council’s 50+ Leisure and Learning Centres.”
A collection of handiworks, art and other artisan items including leatherwork, jewellery, craft and art items, created by our talented seniors will be on display.
Mayor Lisa Matthews said Council’s 50+ Leisure and Learning Centres encourages creativeness and promote healthy lifestyles for older residents.
“There are seven 50+ Leisure and Learning Centres and Senior Centres on the Central Coast, which provide opportunities for social, educational, cultural and physical development,” Mayor Matthews said.
“Older people play a vital role in our community and the contribution they make to our region is significant to all.
“Council is committed to supporting our seniors, so they can lead social, active, healthy, and independent lives as they age.”
