Reminder: Two Chemical CleanOut events to occur in August

Central Coast Council is pleased to remind residents of the two upcoming Chemical Cleanout events scheduled to take place this month on 6 and 7 August in Kincumber, and 13 and 13 August in Charmhaven.

Important Note: event moved to new location - the event scheduled for Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August 2022, has been relocated to Kincumber Landfill, Cullens Road, Kincumber. This facility remains temporarily closed, however will open its gates for the Chemical CleanOut event only. 

Residents are again encouraged to clear out unwanted and out-of-date hazardous items from homes, garages, and sheds to take advantage of the opportunity to correctly dispose of these items at the Chemical CleanOut events. 

Community members can safely drop off their chemicals for free between 9am to 3.30pm daily, on the following dates: 

•    Kincumber Landfill, Kincumber, on Cullens Road, Kincumber on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August 2022 
    Council's Charmhaven Depot, on Chelmsford Rd, Charmhaven on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August 2022. 

Items that can be dropped off include pesticides, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, fluorescent globes and tubes as well as any unknown or unidentified chemicals which are accepted for identification and correct disposal.

Council reminds residents to transport material safely, keep chemicals in the original container and remain in their vehicles when dropping off hazardous waste.
