01/02/2020Central Coast Mayor Lisa Matthews will bring together key stakeholders to improve the economy and amenity of The Entrance Town Centre.
Council staff will present on Council’s Economic Development Strategy, tourism, upgrading The Entrance Waterfront and The Entrance Channel. There will be opportunity for businesses and the community to ask questions and share their ideas and concerns.
Mayor Lisa Matthews, who doorknocked local businesses yesterday, said there was an overwhelming need for action to revitalise The Entrance
“There are mixed messages from businesses about how summer was at The Entrance – some said it was the busiest ever, while others reported quiet trading,” Mayor Matthews said.
“The number one concern is the state of The Entrance Channel and the feeling that nothing is being done.
“Nature hasn’t been kind to us in this regard. The drought is really taking its toll on The Channel. We need decent and ongoing rain. However, we can’t sit on our hands and wait for that. We must act.
“This requires a whole of government and community solution and that is why I have called this forum and why the Member for The Entrance has agreed to co-host it.
“We want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly about what is happening,” Mayor Matthews added.
“We want to assure the businesses and the community that we are with them and committed to working together to revitalise the town.”
The forum will be held on Monday 16 March 2020 at The Entrance Surf Club at 5.30pm. Attendees are encouraged to register at eventbrite.com.au by searching ‘Spotlight on The Entrance.’
