16/07/2020Central Coast Mayor Lisa Matthews has called an Extraordinary Council Meeting for Monday 20 July 2020 to receive a thorough public update around the unfolding coastal crisis at Wamberal and The North Entrance. This is as a result of a request from both the Mayor and other Councillors.
Under the Code of Meeting Practice, the Mayor has determined that the extraordinary meeting is to be held on Monday, 20 July from 6.30pm, remotely.
“The impact this storm has had on Wamberal and North Entrance residents is devastating, some are at risk of losing their homes as a result of severe erosion due to damaging surf,” Mayor Matthews said.
“It is imperative that members of the community are well informed of the coordinated response efforts underway from all levels of government.
“Members of the public can view the meeting on webcast, and I encourage you to do so.
“It is equally important that bystanders are aware of the danger involved in getting too close to these areas, these are cordoned off for your safety."
Central Coast Council website and social media pages continue to provide updates to the situation.
