The New Zealand Warriors have once again chosen the Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex at Tuggerah as their official training ground and the coast as their ‘home away from home’ until at least June 2021.

Council’s Director of Community and Recreational Services, Julie Vaughan is thrilled to welcome back the NZ Warriors to the coast.

“Our purpose-built venue continues to prove itself as a fantastic sports and recreation venue that attracts key bookings for elite sports team training and hosting of mass participation events.

“Being able to deliver a venue that can support the ongoing training requirements of the NZ Warriors further cements our reputation as a region that excels in high quality sporting facilities – whilst also bringing in a boost to Council much needed finances.”

Vodaphone Warriors NZ Football Operations manager Dan Floyd said they are grateful to be given the opportunity to be based at the regional sporting complex on the Central Coast again and thanks the community for their continued support.

“We have worked with Council and local service providers to set up temporary infrastructure that gives us a more permanent base from which to make life as normal as possible for our players and staff.  On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank Council and all the local residents for accommodating us, and welcoming us, during this period,” Mr  Floyd said.

The NZ Warrior training schedule and booking at the CCRSRC will not impact access to this facility by the general public.   The team will use this facility up until June 2021,  at which time the NRL will review their possible extension dependent on COVID conditions at the time.
