Students on the Coast can get ready for a dynamic experience these winter school holidays with Central Coast Council running over 60 free and affordable events at our libraries, leisure centres, theatres, Gosford Regional Gallery, and outdoor spaces.

Central Coast Council is delivering a fun, family friendly winter school holiday program with activities for a range of ages from early childhood and primary school years, through to tweens and teens, that will entice kids to get active and creative with their hands, feet, and imagination.

  • For the little ones, there’s a jam-packed range of activities that are destined to inspire. For fans of the Octonauts or Bob the Builder we look forward to seeing their happy faces during one of our Live Stage Shows at The Entrance. Or maybe they would enjoy listening to stories, songs and making craft in the Japanese Tea House at Gosford Regional Gallery.
  • Animal lovers will be excited for our hands-on Minibeasts! animal and insects’ program or get up close and personal with animals you might find in your backyard at the Australian Animal Wildlife Show.
  • Don’t miss the performances at Laycock Theatre of Children are Stinky and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which has a morning sensory friendly session.
  • Aspiring artists will love learning mixed media techniques in our Ink Resist Corals and Collage workshops, students will work with a range of materials such as charcoal, watercolour, ink, acrylic, pens, and pastels.
  • Sporty kids can come along to Lake Haven Recreation Centre and learn to play basketball, there are free learn to skate classes at Bato Yard Skate Park, as well as a Skate JAM, street art and hip-hop workshops, and learn to swim classes at Peninsula Leisure Centre.
  • For older kids we have robotics and coding, song writing, .gif animation, Dungeons and Dragons and mini figurine painting workshops, Taylor Swift trivia, beginner’s Cricut, Manga and Music mystery films and games, and lots more.
