Social Spaces is back with six months of rolling family friendly events and activations starting this Thursday 1 December 2022. The program includes a series of seasonal, school holiday and pop-up activities across the town centres of Gosford, Wyong, The Entrance and Toukley.

Council Unit Manager Community and Culture, Glenn Cannard said the Social Spaces initiative not only brings the community together, but also aims to attract visitors to the region to help boost local businesses and create vibrant spaces in our town centres.

“The array of activities included in the Social Spaces program such as the Movie Nights is a great way for the community to explore our town centres, browse the shops, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a free activity with the family,” Mr Cannard said.

“It’s about reinvigorating spaces and revealing the hidden treasures of Gosford, Wyong, Toukley and The Entrance."

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said these initiatives are important to our business communities and locals.

“Our local businesses enjoy the Social Spaces activations as it is a great way to engage new customers.” 

“It’s also a great way for locals and visitors to celebrate and explore amazing local food, kids’ activities, seasonal activations, musicians, and all of what our incredible town centres have on offer.”

Program highlights:

• Pop up dining experience (The Entrance only) – enjoy live entertainment and an array of delicious dinner options offered from local restaurants and businesses.
   
• Tai Chi – pop on your leggings, grab some friends and attend a free Tai Chi class. Available across the four town centres this December 2022 and January 2023.
   
• Live entertainment – catch live entertainment available across Gosford, Wyong, Toukley, and The Entrance from December 2022 – January 2023.
   
• School Holidays Activities - kids can try everything from Laser Skirmish, Face Painting, Play and Picasso painting workshops or enjoy an Australian Wildlife display. 
   
• Movie Nights – head down to Gosford, Wyong, or Toukley and grab some dinner from a local business, sit under the summer’s night sky and enjoy a free family movie night. These movie nights also include a range of free crafts for the kids and roving entertainment.

Social Spaces kicks off on Thursday 1 December 2022 and continues through to May 2023.
