Central Coast Council is helping to bring the Coast community together with a fun International Games Day at Gosford and Lake Haven Library from 10am on Saturday 19 November.

This international event gives the community a place to explore adventure games, secret decoding games, the latest tabletop games and check out the diverse range of activities the Libraries have on offer.

Council’s Library Services Manager, Ms Andrea Edwards said, Gosford and Lake Haven Libraries will join in with over a thousand libraries around the world which are opening up their libraries on the same day for gaming.

“This international initiative is supported by the Australian Library and Information Association, American Library Association and Nordic Game Day. It has been running for the past eight years with huge success,” said Ms Edwards.

“On the Coast, Gosford Library will transport you into a daring adventure land through tabletop games and secret decoding games.

“Lake Haven Library will have you fighting for domination over your region on a huge table top game as you hone your gamer strategy skills.

“This International Games Day is an opportunity for the Central Coast to introduce fun activities and raise awareness of the social and educational benefits of play.”

Libraries are not just a place to borrow books, they connect people together and support the Coast community to live happy lives so if you are looking for a day of entertainment this Saturday, this event will not disappoint.

Bookings are essential and can be made by calling each library branch.
