23/02/2020Following Central Coast Council’s adoption of a Climate Change Policy last year, the community is encouraged to become actively involved in the program’s next phase with a series of place-based community workshops kicking off.
Throughout 2020, Council staff will be conducting 17 community workshops and running online consultation to build a whole-of-community approach to climate action. Council will also work closely with high schools and key sectors including health, construction and built environment, tourism and retail, agriculture and land management, and manufacturing and industry.
The workshop program begins with the first workshop at Lake Munmorah, with more to follow across the Central Coast throughout 2020.
Residents are encouraged to register for these community workshops and also have their say in an online survey.
The Climate Action Plan will develop place-based actions that respond, adapt and build resilience to the changing risks impacting the community, council assets, infrastructure and the environment for the entire region.
