Revitalisation of the Gosford Waterfront presents a major opportunity to unlock Gosford and the Central Coast’s full potential, and the time is right to progress this vision.

A reimagined Gosford Waterfront will see the amount of public space significantly increased with a vibrant urban foreshore featuring entertainment, maritime services, tourism and residential living which will stimulate local economic and job growth.

While Gosford has been the subject of many plans over the years, we have never had a greater opportunity to act than we do right now. As identified by the NSW Government, Gosford is the Principal City for the Central Coast, the site for the proposed new university and TAFE campuses, and links with the NSW Government’s faster train proposal.  

Importantly, Council will not be funding or delivering the key elements of the waterfront renewal. Instead, Council is seeking support for delivery of the project by a dedicated NSW Government development corporation, as has occurred at many other great waterfronts including Honeysuckle in Newcastle and Barangaroo in Sydney.

Council will now progress to a period of extensive consultation with the community and stakeholders to identify how the concept plan should be refined to create a detailed masterplan.
