Administrator's Message - Reflecting on 2021

Published On

14/12/2021

As 2021 draws to a close I find myself reflecting on what a massive 12 months it has been. Not only for the community, but particularly for Council staff. Around this time last year, the Council was having to face closing the doors if we were unsuccessful with the banks.

Twelve months on from what has been an extremely difficult and challenging year that will stand out forever in local government, we have remained committed to the key measures required for Council to operate financial sustainable and are beginning to see positive results.

It has been an incredible journey for the organisation and the community, and I can safely say there is light at the end of the tunnel. Whilst stabilising the organisation financially has been the priority, I recognise, along with the CEO, the need for an internal focus and priority of our staff.

Meeting with the community in the open sessions these past six weeks has shown how passionate the community is for their region, even in the face of adversity, there is still a great attitude and passion that comes out strong.

I would like to thank the community and staff for their continued contribution and patience over these past 12 months. I wish you all a very safe and happy holiday.
