Administrator's Message - Council’s commitment to Surf Life Saving on the Coast

Surf Life Saving Central Coast (SLSCC) plays a significant role in our community. The value this service brings to the community is a significant and vital part of community life here on the Coast.

Last night at Council’s Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to continue our partnership with SLSCC by committing $213, 500 for the FY 2021-22 to ensure the ongoing operations of its 15 Surf Clubs can be maintained, including the supply of rescue equipment, delivery of educational programs and ongoing beach safety patrols.

This is an example of one very important and well loved partnerships for Council and ensures we continue to deliver safe swimming at our beaches for our residents and visitors to our region. Whilst it may feel like we haven’t experienced a real summer, there is only a few more weeks before flags are down. I encourage the community when out at our beaches, swim safely, be mindful of weather conditions and that clean-up is still underway with some extensive debris still on some beaches as a result of recent floods.

On that note, I would like to thank those in the community who have helped in collecting rubbish and placing it beyond the high water mark.
