Earlier this week, Central Coast Council was named a finalist in eight categories of the NSW Local Government Excellence Awards. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Council staff on their fantastic efforts in what has been a very challenging and difficult operating environment these past 18 months.

Finalists in areas such as procurement, plant & fleet, tourism, information & technology, economic development, and environment and planning, is a testament of staff resilience, skills and their commitment to the community, of which they are, of course, a part of themselves, to continue to deliver services and projects at such high standards.

Council will continue to innovate in a financially responsible, sustainable and strategic manner as we progress the organisation’s recovery.

To be showcased as a top Council in NSW and have our projects within Council recognised at a state level is a great achievement. I once again congratulate staff for their efforts in continuing to strive in improving systems and processes to deliver better services for our ratepayers and residents and driving economic initiatives to enable regional growth.

Winners will be announced at the 2022 NSW Local Government Awards on Thursday 26 May.
