16/03/2022I support the Minister for Local Government’s response to the Commissioner’s eight recommendations and welcome the much anticipated release of the Commissioner’s report following the Public Inquiry into Central Coast Council’s financial crisis.
I acknowledge the financial crisis left our community and council staff feeling let down and angered.
The community of the Central Coast called for a public inquiry into the financial crisis that crippled Council, and whilst the findings may not satisfy everyone this is an opportunity to draw a line in the sand and focus on the future in rebuilding our council to deliver for our community.
I have always said I look forward to democracy returning to the Central Coast. As Interim Administrator, I will continue to support the CEO in actioning the Business Recovery Plan and strategies put in place for the Council to be financially sustainable into the future until such time that a local government election is called.
