Libraries commence reopening

Published On

21/06/2021

All of our main libraries are open, but your experience will be a little different whilst we slowly get back to full operations. Please be patient during this challenging time. We have implemented changes to comply with strict health procedures and NSW Health guidelines.

In line with current NSW Health guidelines, all library visitors must wear an appropriate face mask. All visitors are also required to sign in upon entry using the Service NSW COVID Safe Check-in.

Read our FAQs about libraries reopening.

Items in quarantine

Have you returned items, but they’re showing as overdue on your account?

With the risk of COVID-19 still present, we are continuing to quarantine all items for three days before returning them to our shelves for the health and safety of staff and our community. This means it may take up to a week before items you have returned to the branches are removed from your account.

If items sitting in quarantine are stopping you from being able to renew, reserve or borrow, please get in contact with your local branch or email us.

Any associated lost item fees showing on your account will automatically be removed once items are checked back in.

Staged reopening of Libraries

Thank you for your patience as we continue to transition back to a fully functioning library service.

All of our main branches are open with adjusted opening hours; Bateau Bay, Erina, Gosford, Kincumber, Lake Haven, The Entrance, Toukley, Tuggerah, Umina Beach and Woy Woy library branches reopen Monday to Friday, 9.30am-4.30pm.

Our Erina, Lake Haven, Tuggerah and Woy Woy branches are now open Saturdays, 9.30am-12.30pm.

Kariong Library now operates from its new location at 98 Mitchell Drive, Kariong and is open Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm.

There are limits on the number of people visiting branches in line with social distancing requirements.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, it is a condition of entry to all library branches that all visitors must check in upon entry. This can be done by scanning the QR code on posters located at the entry of our branches, scanning your library membership card or filling out the paper form located at the library reception desk. Visitor information will be recorded upon entry and stored for 28 days in order to comply with the NSW Health Act.

Internal chutes remain closed, with external chutes left open for returns throughout the day. All returned items should be placed in external chutes at all branches. All items returned to any library branch will remain on borrowers cards while they are quarantined for up to four days. Please contact a branch if the items have not been returned after this time.
