24/09/2024Central Coast Council is currently seeking community feedback on a number of projects and plans.
Ensuring our community’s voice is reflected in our projects and plans is vital to improving the region we all love to live, work and play in. We recognise the value of community knowledge, ideas and expertise and are ensuring we use this to make informed decisions to help shape the future of our region.
Community feedback assists Council in better delivering services, community facilities and projects for the Central Coast, and helps to ensure that these are aligned with what the community both want and need.
Council is currently seeking community input on the following projects and plans:
- Draft Open Space Strategy (open until 27 Sept). This strategy has been developed to engage the community and partners in the next 10 years of planning for public open space. Your feedback will be used to finalise the Strategy.
- Business Retention and Expansion Survey (open until 30 Sept). Business owners are encouraged to share their insights to create a data collection and industry insights tool, direct Council advocacy efforts, and help tailor the delivery of information on economic development support programs and resources available to local businesses.
- Draft Community Engagement Strategy, including Community Participation Plan (open until 30 September). Your final thoughts and feedback on this draft plan regarding how the community want to be engaged with will ensure we have got it right.
- Public Exhibition: Draft Social Media Policy (open until 1 Oct). Changes to the Social Media Policy 2022 are being proposed to make it simpler for the community to interact with councillors in appropriate channels. The community is invited to make a submission on the draft policy.
- Tuggerawong and Davistown district playspaces (open until 2 Oct). Your feedback will be incorporated into the planning for the upgraded Illoura Reserve, Davistown playspace and a new Tuggerawong playspace.
- Gosford Leagues Club Park Upgrade – Share Your Voice (open until 21 Oct). Your input will help shape the design of the Gosford Leagues Club Park, creating a design that embraces our diverse community by identifying our users and planning for the future.
- Draft Central Coast Public Toilet Strategy (open until 25 October). The draft Public Toilet Strategy outlines Council’s vision for a comprehensive network of public toilets across the Central Coast. To ensure it meets the needs of residents and visitors, the community is invited to review and provide feedback on the draft Strategy.
- Hardys Bay Foreshore Masterplan (open until 28 Oct). Your input will inform the masterplan to establish the overall vision for the Hardys Bay waterfront precinct.
- Hawkesbury-Nepean River System Coast Management Program (CMP) (open until 24 November). The third stage of community engagement for this CMP is open, with information pop-up events and feedback sought from our local community on proposed management actions.
- Draft update to Plan of Management for Council Community Land (open until 25 Nov). The Plan is being updated to include newly acquired, identified or re-classified land lots, and the reclassification of some lots already in the plan which is on public exhibition for community feedback.
Community engagement is the key mechanism that helps to identify local values and needs to assist Council in its decision-making. Council is committed to involving and collaborating with the community and regularly provides opportunities for locals to have their say on plans, policies and projects though our online engagement portal ‘Your Voice – Our Coast'.
We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to provide real input into current initiatives, as the feedback you provide guides future decision making and informs project delivery.
