Council is extremely disappointed that significant vandalism has occurred at the public toilets in Terry Oval, Springfield – public amenities which the community value and need. This senseless vandalism, during the school holiday period, has forced the full closure of these toilets (including disabled toilets).

The vandalism included smashing all toilet bowls with large rocks, ripping sinks off the wall and smashing plumbing.   These mindless attacks cost rate payers money, Council staff time and disrupt the availability of these facilities for public and visitors on the Coast.

The cost of repairing these amenities will be approximately $10,000, with repair works commencing shortly, and hopefully completed by mid-May. 

Council is asking the community to help apprehend these vandals by reporting any witnessed anti-social behaviour or vandalism to Police Crime Stopper by calling 1800 333 000 or online https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au .Please report any crimes in progress to Police by calling 000 (triple zero).
