Newly upgraded playspace at Hylton Moore Oval, East Gosford

Hylton Moore Oval at East Gosford has a new playspace for the enjoyment of local families and visitors to the sports oval. An improved split level active/sport inspired themed playspace was installed with new park furniture, landscaping and rubber softfall into and around the facility to promote accessibility and inclusion. Established trees were retained and new plantings will provide natural shade over the playspace.

This playspace renewal was funded by $105,000 from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and $5,000 from Council.  In addition, the East Gosford Football Club provided $5,000 funding for the construction of the accessible concrete pathway from the Hylton Moore Oval playspace entry to the carpark.

Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart said playspaces are important hubs for community play and social connections - where people of all ages can connect, socialise, play, learn and lead active lifestyles together.

“Funding from the Australian Government has enabled Council to create a safe and engaging playspace for the enjoyment of local families and visitors to the sports oval, with additional contributions from the East Gosford Football Club funding accessible pathways.

“This renewed playspace at Hylton Moore Oval is a great example of a high quality playspace that includes popular infrastructure such as net climbing equipment and swings, which also features rubber and connective concreate pathways to improve accessibility and inclusion.”

The LRCI program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
