Three boys with medals

With 9 coasties attending the Paris Olympics, there is no better time to inspire kids on the coast to be active and follow their passions.

The Mini Olympics event was held for our Olympians in the making - kids enrolled in council’s swim and sport programs across Peninsula Leisure Centre, Gosford Olympic Pool, Toukley Aquatic Centre, and Lake Haven Recreation Centre. We had a fantastic turnout of 500 kids and family.

The day kicked off with the opening ceremony where our athletes marched into the pool hall. Audiences were on the edge of their seats for the races ranging from doggy paddle to 100m freestyle, with each race as nail biting as the next!

The day was full of fun, with pool inflatables, a jumping castle, colouring in, face painting and a lucky door prize draw.

A special shout out to Woy Woy Swim Club for running the sausage sizzle, and our dedicated Learn to Swim and Sports staff for organising and running this event.
