The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) are postponing the Central Coast Chemical CleanOut events that were planned to take place in March, due to a recent fire at their contractor, Cleanaway, St Mary’s waste facility in Sydney.

Council will advise of details for the local Chemical Clean Out events as soon as the NSW EPA confirms dates.

Central Coast residents are also being asked to temporarily hold off on disposing of paints and gas bottles through the Buttonderry Community Recycling Centre (CRC).  

In the meantime, householders are advised to store household chemical waste (such as paints and gas bottles) in clearly labelled containers, in a cool dry place away from children and pets until services are back up and running.
