The deferment of two projects occurred following receipt of advice from the Australian Government that a decision was made to defer a portion of the funding allocated to the Central Coast Roads Package. Council is awaiting confirmation from the Federal Government of project recommencement for the road and drainage upgrade proposed for Shelly Beach Road, Empire Bay and the intersection upgrade to Ocean Beach Road and Rawson Road, Woy Woy.
Initial works to allow for the road and drainage upgrade of Shelly Beach Road, Empire Bay, involving the relocation of the water main, have been undertaken.
The upgrade design of Ocean Beach Road and Rawson Road, Woy Woy has commenced and strategic property acquisitions have been made, however construction is currently deferred. Council remains committed to delivery of this important intersection upgrade and is continuing to liaise with representatives of Transport for NSW (who administer funding on behalf of the Australian Government) and representatives of the Australian Government in relation to the delivery of this project.
