Construction is underway to build a new sports amenities building with significantly improved facilities and accessibility. The new designs include two change rooms and showers, all-purpose room, unisex toilets, accessible toilet and change area, canteen facilities, referee room, two equipment storage areas, with undercover walkways and connective pathways.

Construction works commenced early September 2024 with completion anticipated by May 2025.

Temporary construction fencing around the perimeter of the existing building and site ensures that works can be undertaken safely for workers and our community.

As the off-leash dog park adjoins the building site this results in a small reduction of this space.   Following completion of the amenities building, Council will undertake community consultation around the off-leash dog park to understand local users' needs and wants for this space before any further plans are made for this area.

The new accessible sports amenities building will help support local sports communities, encourage active and healthy lifestyles and create opportunities for important social connections.

Recently, Council completed the installation of subsoil drainage and irrigation at Buff Point Oval to increase usability, safety during play and speed up recovery time after extensive wet weather.
