I am delighted to announce that Central Coast Council is a finalist, under the category of Local Council of the Year, at the 2024 Sports Foyer NSW Community Sports Awards. This is an outstanding achievement, especially as Sport NSW received an unprecedented number of nominations across the 12 Award categories.

Presented by Sport NSW, the Awards acknowledge outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport and are a tribute to the exceptional dedication and contribution to sporting communities which are largely run by volunteers across NSW.

Council recognises the importance of community sport and is dedicated to delivering as many new sport and recreation facilities as possible so that our community can gain the health, social and community benefits they provide. A major capital works project underway is the construction of the new sporting and recreation complex at Colongra which is expected to start in the second half of 2024.

I am proud to say that I noticed a number of finalists representing the Central Coast across several award categories. I congratulate all finalists for their exceptional work and wish them the best. Good luck to everyone!

The Awards will be presented on Wednesday 19 June 2024 at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta where the 12 Community Sports Award category winners and Distinguished Long Service Award winners will be announced by Hon. Stephen Kamper, NSW Minister for Sport.
