Administrator’s message – Outcome of NSW State Election

Published On

27/03/2023

The outcome of the 25 March 2023 NSW State Election has led to a change of state government, with residents across NSW voting in the NSW Labor Party for the first time in 12 years. On Tuesday 28 March 2023, the leader of the NSW Labor Party, Chris Minns, officially became our new Premier.

While the votes are still being counted, and one out of our five state seats remains undetermined, it is clear that Central Coast Labor Members or Parliament (MPs) have done very well in this election, with many – if not all – increasing their margins.

I congratulate Ms Liesl Tesch, Member for Gosford, Mr David Harris, Member for Wyong, Mr David Mehan, Member for The Entrance and Ms Yasmin Catley, Member for Swansea, on their successful campaigns and retention of their seats.

While at the time of writing the state seat of Terrigal remains in the balance, I would like to extend my congratulations to both Mr Adam Crouch (NSW Liberal) and Mr Sam Boughton (NSW Labor) on their strong campaigns and wish them both luck as the votes continue to be counted for the seat of Terrigal.

With a NSW Labor Government now in power, I look forward to continuing working with all of our State MPs, regardless of their political affiliations, to increase opportunities for funding, advancements and improvements for the Central Coast region.
